About Hearth Festival

The idea for Hearth Festival was sparked when I was fortunate enough to attend one of Kindred Women’s retreats. There, I met the most incredible women—four of whom are now part of this festival—and found the space and inspiration to bring to life something I had dreamed of for years.

I wanted to create a cosy, welcoming space where community could come together to ignite their curiosity, learn new skills, and explore creativity at a gentle, nourishing pace.

Hearth Festival offers a diverse program of workshops and events, thoughtfully curated to help you try something new, dive into a creative pursuit, or pick up a practical skill. Each experience is designed to leave you with a sense of accomplishment, a spark of inspiration, and something tangible to take home—either to keep or to gift to someone you love.

With the freedom to choose your own adventure, you can register for as many events as you like, making your time at the festival a truly personal journey of growth and discovery.

I’m thrilled to showcase an incredible collective of local artists, creatives, and makers who will lead the workshops. The talent in Nillumbik, Banyule and surrounds is truly something to celebrate! Learn more about our wonderful artists and facilitators.

About Me

Hi, I’m Shana—producer and founder of Hearth Festival.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve produced events and projects for a wide range of organisations, including charities like the RSPCA and the Multiple Sclerosis Society, as well as law firms and government bodies. I’m currently the Program Coordinator at Yarra Plenty Regional Library—a role that beautifully combines my love of stories, creativity, and spreadsheets!

Since becoming a mother to two beautiful little humans, I’ve often found it hard to carve out time for exploring creativity and personal growth. Hearth Festival was born from a desire to create a flexible, enriching space where people—especially those juggling busy lives—can reconnect with themselves, learn meaningful skills, and fill their cups.
