Inspiration to Print: Beginner Block Printing
Saturday 30 August 10.00am – 1.00pm
Slow down, get creative, and connect with the rhythm of the seasons in this calming, hands-on printmaking workshop. Join multi-disciplinary artist Bianca Harrington for an immersive session where you’ll design, carve, and hand-print your own unique tea towel and one tote bag — perfect for gifting or keeping as one-of-a-kind creations.
Using the Wurundjeri season of Waring (Winter) as our muse, we’ll explore organic forms, textures, and patterns inspired by this time of stillness, roots, and reflection. Whether you’re a seasoned creative or complete beginner, this workshop offers the perfect space to unwind and make something beautiful with your hands.
Workshop highlights:
Design and carve your own block (or use one from Bianca’s curated library)
Print one high-quality linen tea towels and one cotton tote bag
Learn the basics of block printing, from transferring your design to pressing your final print
Tap into the meditative rhythm of hand-printing and carving, with beautiful views of the Diamond Creek
All tools are provided for the duration of the session and you'll take home your block.
You’ll also have the chance to browse Bianca’s finished work and purchase kits, extra blanks, tools, if you’d like to keep creating at home.
What to Bring:
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky — aprons are welcome, and disposable gloves are recommended if you’d prefer to keep your hands clean. (Ink washes off skin but not fabric!)
Come for the creativity, stay for the calm — and leave with your own handcrafted, heartfelt pieces.
