Handful of Gratitude – Block Printing
Sunday 31 August 10.00am – 1.00pm
Winter is the perfect time for sitting with ourselves and looking in, hibernating, reflection.
During this block printing class we will hone in on what we are grateful for as the inspiration for our ‘Handful of Gratitude” art prints, based on Bianca Harrington’s artwork Gifts to Humanity.
It is often life’s simplest of offerings, laughing, a quiet cup of tea, bird song or our families.
We will distill these thoughts into a few symbols that are meaningful to you. Bianca will teach you how to convert your symbols into your own personalised block printed ‘Handful of Gratitude’ artwork, for you to take home as a reminder for all the wonderful things in our life.
You can use this piece as you choose - a wall hanging, altar cloth, sewn into a cushion or lavender bag, or stretched over a canvas.
Everything in this class will be provided and lino cutting tools will be available for you use, however feel free to bring your own if you already own some.
You’ll also have the chance to browse Bianca’s finished work and purchase kits, extra blanks, tools, if you’d like to keep creating at home.
What to Bring:
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky — aprons are welcome, and disposable gloves are recommended if you’d prefer to keep your hands clean. (Ink washes off skin but not fabric!)
Location: The Art Studio, Nillumbik Living and Learning Eltham. 739 Main Road, Eltham
Transport:
